Abstract

This study sought to investigate the extent to which the adoption of  governance contributes to the implementation of Total Quality Management (TQM) principles  in  public institutions in Libya, with  the Faculty of Economics at the University of Benghazi serving  as a case study .The study adopted a descriptive- analytical approach and a case study methodology. The study population comprised all faculty members across the various academic departments within the Faculty of Economics at the University of Benghazi.  The findings revealed  a moderate level of governance  adoption among the study participants, as well  as a moderate level of implementation of TQM principles. Furthermore, the results  demonstrated a strong, positive , and  statistically significant correlation  between governance, the independent  variable ,and the implementation of TQM  principles ,the dependent variable. These findings  suggest that governance is significantly associated with the implementation of key TQM principles, including effective leadership, continuous improvement, and a customer-focused approach, in public institutions in Libya, with  the Faculty of Economics at the University of Benghazi.
