Secularism is a principle that separates religion from the state, leading to the exclusion of Islamic law from various aspects of life. Secularism arose as a result of religious tyranny in Europe during the Middle Ages, prompting people to seek new solutions for governance. This research discusses the reasons for the spread of secularism in the Islamic world, such as colonialism, Western education, cultural and intellectual dependence, and the press. It also highlights the negative effects of secularism on the individual and society, such as the marginalization of Islamic law, the spread of moral corruption, and the encouragement of social practices contrary to Islam. The research examines Islam's stance on secularism, clarifying that Islam does not separate religion and state but rather encompasses all aspects of life. It emphasizes that secularism contradicts Islamic doctrine, as it imposes man-made laws as an alternative to divine law, leading to a disruption of the social and moral order. Among the research recommendations are: strengthening Islamic education, establishing media outlets that promote Islam, training preachers capable of countering secularist thought, and publishing books and studies that reveal the true nature of secularism and clarify its dangers to Islamic societies.
