This research examines the nature of the marital relationship within the family structure by defining each research term linguistically and technically. It identifies the legal responsibilities of each spouse from an Islamic perspective and highlights the gap that has emerged in contemporary Muslim households due to the distancing of Muslim families from the principles of Islamic law in the context of globalization and modernity. The research also explores the impact of these changes on Muslim families by offering effective Islamic solutions to address the crisis, thus demonstrating the importance of this topic.
The research aims to: define the role of each member of the family, uphold marital rights and obligations, clarify the concept of guardianship (qawamah), and propose solutions to the problem of role reversal within the family.
Several methodologies were employed in this research: inductive, analytical, and critical approaches. The research concluded that marriage in Islam is a sacred bond that safeguards the faith, protecting individuals from sins such as adultery and fornication. Furthermore, straying from Islamic law leads to the severing of bonds of affection and the destruction of marital harmony.
