Abstract

Argumentative discourse constitutes a fundamental pillar of persuasive texts characterized by intentionality, discussion, criticism, and debate. It functions by analyzing the discourse directed at the recipient and employing persuasive strategies to influence them. This study aims to examine the argumentative strategy embodied in the duality of the good (al-Tayyib) and the evil (al-Khabith) in the Qur'anic discourse, and to explore how this strategy is employed to persuade recipients and encourage them to embody its teachings in their attitudes and behavior. The study identifies and analyzes the argumentative mechanisms employed in this discourse, focusing specifically on speech acts and argumentative connectors.

The research is divided into an introduction and two main sections. The introduction defines the key concepts and terminology of the study. The first section examines speech acts, while the second section discusses argumentative connectors as major mechanisms of Qur'anic argumentation.
