This study offers an analytical reading of the intellectual and spiritual legacy of Aḥmad Ibn ʿAjība. Rather than limiting itself to a descriptive account of Sufi concepts, it seeks to explore their philosophical and maqāṣid-oriented foundations and to elucidate their role in human formation, the guidance of conduct, and the consolidation of ethical values.
The significance of the study lies in highlighting the practical character of Sufi spirituality and demonstrating that, in Ibn ʿAjība’s thought, Sufism does not represent a withdrawal from reality; rather, it constitutes a project for the ethical and spiritual reform of both the individual and society. From this perspective, the study opens new horizons for contemporary philosophical and Islamic scholarship.
